Before he became a German pop icon who eats burgers while drunk and judges a human dog and pony show, David Hasselhoff was a TV legend. After Knight Rider went off the air in the mid to late 80s, David Hasselhoff had to wonder what he was going to do next. He answered it like most men would, let's do a show on the beach with hot women in skimpy bikinis and lifeguards. Th result: TV GOLD!! Although most of the plots were all the same, because, let's face it, there is only so many things that can happen at a beach, the show managed to run for ten years with over a billion viewers per week in its first few. Hoff had a simple formula and stuck to it, he always seem to cast playboy playmtes, but was smart enough to not give them a lot of lines. I watched that show everytime it came on for at least a few years, come on, hot half naked women running in slow motion. Nuff said. Eventually, like all great TV shows, the plot ran its course and everybody started to notice odd things about the show. For example, Hasselhoff's son grew into a man but Hasselhoff stayed the same age and how the hell do you save somebody from drowning in one scene and be completely dry in the next. However, despite that, Baywatch earned its spot in TV history and gave guys my age a reason to sit through Thunder in Paradise, sorry Hulk. Question: How do you make must see TV? Answer: Hasselhoff and hot half-naked women. It's worth a shot. I'm just saying!!
